Earth Sees Balance

Eagles screaming on the wing
Tiny mouse who cannot sing
Both are parts of sacred whole
Fox and egret, lion,  vole

Earth takes pleasure in all kinds
All connected, all sublime
from Her perspective, none be more
precious, none be more adored

‘Tis human eyes with spirit’s sight
that separates the dark from light
that labels predators the bad
and prey is called the victim, sad

But Earth knows balance, feels it all
great jaws that bite, soft feathers fall
All be warm in Her embrace
Heaven’s there upon the face
of death and birth, when Nature rules

But ah, we humans be such fools
to place a God above it all
to claim a height from which we fall
